Baldwin Farm is a free-to-visit family-owned farm that opens every fall. This year, it is open from September 27 to October 31, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and it’s worth a visit! We arrived a little after 10 a.m. I had never been here before; however, Jax had several times, so he showed me around the farm. Are you ready to explore this cute little farm with us? Let’s go see the animals!

The Animals

Jax’s first stop was the goats! Goat feed cost 25ยข, however, I didn’t have any change so Jax picked the feed off the ground and fed the goats several times. his favorite goat was a mid-side white goat that kept coming over to him. He wouldn’t even offer the other goats food as he took a liking to this one goat. Be aware there are bees near the goats, this was my least favorite part as the bees kept following me around. Next, we went to see the Llama, which went inside as we approached however the cow stayed outside. She was my favorite animal! She was very chill and enjoyed the sun and my camera.

Activities at the farm

The farm offers a lot of activities, some we did and some we didn’t. Jax first walked across the Rolled Hay Caterpillar and was so proud of how high up he was. He then headed over to Mt. Baldwin Dirt Hill and made some friends while climbing the mountain. He flew on some swinging thing and kept yelling “I’m flying” then headed to the corn pool to “cool down”. Jax also enjoyed all the Rolling Tumblers throughout the farm. We played corn hole and went through the hay maze. Jax road on the Barrel Cart Ride and he said that was his favorite part of the farm. It took him all the way to the pumpkin patch. We had already walked down to the pumpkin patch and looked for pumpkins, Jax picked out two small pumpkins.

Things we didn’t do include the $15 horse rides, I felt that was a bit much when most places I have been to offer rides for $5 a child. We didn’t do the corn maze either so I’m not sure what the cost was for it.

Treats

Make sure to stop by Kelly House Market and check out the amazing treats and drinks. We stopped here halfway through the visit to grab some drinks as it was hot outside. I got a Gatorade and Jax got a Dr. Pepper for $1 each. We took our drinks and sat on the swinging bench outside the market, it was so refreshing! When we were ready to leave we stopped. back at the market. I picked up some honey for $15, apple cider for $6, a couple of gourds for $1 each, and paid for his pumpkins $5 for both. They also have salsas, jams, apple butter, cider donuts, and bread along with a lot more goodies!

The End

Overall we enjoyed the farm and Jax wants to go back again, if you want to learn more about Baldwin’s Farm check out their website here. Now that we are covered in hay straw and have corn in our pockets from the corn pool where shall we go on our next adventure? I don’t know but it will be free or cheap! Ready? Set? Let’s go!
